Leading companies in Malaysias gig economy have raised concerns over the draft of the country's upcoming Gig Workers Bill, urging for refinement of key provisions before tabling it at the Parliament

The proposed legislation will be tabled by the Human Resources Ministry (KESUMA) in the current session of the Dewan Rakyat.

Steven Sim Chee Keong said this is only at the initial stage so it is subject to the approval of the cabinet.

An interim report will be presented to the Cabinet in June and the final report will be presented in August, said KESUMA.
